We have been on a huge cereal kick for quite awhile now. But the supply has run low, so I decided to make these yummy scones for breakfast yesterday. The grapefruit are especially sweet and juicy this time of year! I just adore grapefruit! The scones recipe is from the cookbook "Baking with Julia: Savor the Joys of Baking with America's Best Bakers." Copied the recipe from this cookbook at the library years ago and it's been my favorite ever since. I found the recipe again by doing a google search. I used half of the recipe for this batch and it made just enough for the two of us!
Thanks for the recipe! Looks delicious. And grapefruit might just be my favorite thing about winter.

These look so good! I have never tried scones with grapefruit zest - what a wonderful winter inspiration!
ReplyDeletewell, i actually used orange zest, but i did think of using grapefruit zest. except i thought it might be too bitter. but it would be fun to try that!
ReplyDeleteLooks so yummy - can't wait to try it =D
ReplyDeleteOh, YUM! Scones are so intimidating to me (well, making them, not eating them!) but this makes me want to give it a try. Thanks for sharing your scrumptious photos.
ReplyDeleteamy, the way i look at it, scones are basically a biscuit. and this version just has more butter and sugar and zest in it! i like to use my hands to work the butter into the flour. i think a fork is harder to work with. good luck if you try making them!
ReplyDeleteThese look amazing!
